EvenemangBananpiren
The pier Bananpiren (“The Banana Pier”) is located in the former harbour area of Frihamnen in Gothenburg. The pier, whose official name is Södra Frihamnspiren, is one of three piers that once served as docking sites for ships transporting goods from around the world, including bananas, which gave the pier its nickname. Since the last sips left Frihamnen in 2000, Bananpiren has been transformed into an urban and dynamic festival and event site, capable of welcoming up to 12,000 visitors. The area comprises the 600-metre-long pier that stretches into the Göta älv river, along with the Kajskjul 105 building and two pavilions. It lies within walking distance of central Gothenburg and is easily accessible by tram or bus to the Frihamnen or Frihamnsporten stops. For certain events, it may also be possible to take a ferry to the pier. Check with the organiser for details.
